If you want to see Australian wildlife up close, you can head to the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary. This is one of Brisbane’s most popular attractions. Lone Pine is Australia’s largest koala sanctuary. It’s home to over 130 of the cute-looking animals, as well as other Australian species including kangaroos, dingoes and even the elusive platypus. Visitors can feed and hold many of the animals, as well as see a variety of shows and demonstrations.

West End Fire Festival

As well as its beautiful river views, Orleigh Park is also known for its legendary fire festival, which takes place on the night of every full moon. The festival takes place from 7 pm to 10 pm and is organized by the Firetricks community, which is a group of dedicated circus performers and fire twirlers.

There are cruises on the Brisbane River, which is certainly an excellent option to see the sights of Brisbane. Since the city is bisected by the river and connected by a series of bridges, it is often more convenient for locals and visitors to take the ferries, as well as being a beautiful way to travel.

There are 25 ferry terminals in total on the Brisbane River, including the free CityHopper service which visits 6 terminals (every half hour, seven days a week between 6am and midnight); the other terminals will take you further and are quite reasonably priced.
